Assemblyman Benoit appears with Governor Schwarzenegger to highlight important public safety measures recently signed into law.  John is a recognized expert on public safety and will be the first law enforcement professional in the State Senate in over a decade.

Assemblyman Benoit's office organized Hurricane Katrina relief donations.  John understands disaster preparedness, and has held numerous forums throughout Riverside County.

Assemblyman Benoit plants memorial rose bush to honor the five brave firefighters who lost their lives while battling the flames of the Esperanza wildfire.   Benoit successfully authored the resolution to designate Route 243 as "The Esperanza Firefighters Memorial Highway."

Assemblyman Benoit presents a Resolution to the Army National Guard.  John authored the measure to designate State Highway 215, between Route 60 and the Ramona Expressway, as the "Armed Forces Freeway" in honor of Riverside County's extensive military history.

Discussing plans for local interchange improvements.  As a member of the Budget Sub-Committee on Transportation, Benoit has steadfastly protected funds for road improvements and grade separations.  Benoit also authored legislation to allow the Governor to declare a "Transportation Emergency" to expedite traffic congestion relief projects.

Assemblyman Benoit was successful in passing Assembly Bill 2190 that created a new felony for drivers engaging in illegal street racing.

Just prior to accepting the California Narcotics Officers Association's, "2007 Legislator of the Year" award, John participated in a drug raid with the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force – which he helped create.

John Benoit is endorsed by the California Narcotics officers Association after being named 2007 legislator of the year.

Assemblyman John J. Benoit served the public as a Highway Patrolman for 29 years.
